Synthesizing Methods: Say “No” to Plagiarism

 By: TOEFL consultant

One of types to avoid plagiarizing is synthesizing. This does not only present all information and main ideas but also combine several important sources related to produce a new thing. Moreover, it also needs taking notes skills to sharpen ways of your thinking.

1.      Students have to sum the primary source up.
The important thing in synthesizing is that deciding the primary source is the first event tough there have been some sources. Then, they should make correlation among the sources. Here, the taking notes skills are needed in order to organize the writing assignment.

2.      Understanding transition structures is important.
Several expressions employing transition structures will be explored. All of all, the primary source contains definitions, so the secondary one gives examples. The second, due to the fact that the source of the former contains the solution, the source of the latter proves the problems. The third, because the main source presents causes, the secondary one supports effects. The last, because of opinions in the former source, the latter source takes the opposing opinions.

3.      Supporting the secondary structure completes the source.
Without the secondary source, your primary one will be weak. For example, if the primary source presents the advantages of phones for humans, the secondary one has to take the opposite view of their disadvantages.
